Siobhan Lyles

Teacher

My name is Mrs. Lyles and I will be your child's teacher this year.  This is my seventh year at Mary Williams and my sixth year teaching second grade.  I am extremely excited to watch your child grow this year.  I graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice from UMUC and completed my Masters of Art in Teaching from Liberty University.  I previously taught third grade.

My husband and I have three children: Arielle, a senior at VCU, Kennedie, a sophomore at Virginia Tech and Kevin, a future United States Airman.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading a good book, shopping and enjoying documentaries on Netflix.

I am looking forward to a great year!

Katherine Gall

Teacher

Mrs. Gall is originally from Hanover, Virginia. She attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and returned five years later for a Masters in Curriculum, Instruction and Supervision. This year will be her tenth year teaching and sixth year teaching second grade. She recently returned from Hawai'i where she took a couple years to explore the islands, volunteer with various community organizations and spent countless days with her toes in the sand. When she is not laughing and learning with her second graders, she can be found making a mess in the kitchen with her children, sneaking away to the beach, or reading a good book with a cup of coffee. Mrs. Gall is excited to join the staff at MWES and looks forward to meeting each of her students this year. Panther Pride!

Nielsen
Stacey Nielsen

Teacher

My name is Mrs. Nielsen and I will be your child's teacher this year. I want to extend to you and your child my warmest welcome into our classroom. This will be my 8th year at MWES, but I have 20 years of experience as an elementary educator.  I graduated with a BA degree in English from SUNY New Paltz, and completed my Masters degree in Elementary Education at Mercy College, NY. I have experience working with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6-8th grades.

I enjoy spending time reading, exercising, and spending time with my husband, my 14-year old daughter Lailah and my 12-year-old son Kameron.

My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I am really looking forward to another fun-filled and educational year!
