I am Mia Simpson and I am excited to return to Mary Williams this year as part of the school's Administrative Team as the Teacher on Special Assignment. I look forward to contributing to the "World Class Education" here at Mary Williams. I grew up in Northern Virginia (Springfield) and graduated from Paul VI High School in Fairfax. I graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelors in Liberal Studies and a Masters in Special Education. I started working in the Prince William County School System in fall of 2003. It was my privilege to be part of the Beville Middle School community for 9 years as a teacher of Special Education. For the past three years, I was a Coordinator of Early Intervention Services for Featherstone Elementary School and Mary Williams Elementary. I am happily married to Brian Simpson, an Instructional Technology Coach at Beville Middle School (Yes that is where we met) and we have two beautiful children: Adam my 8 year old who is part of the MWES community, and my precocious 3 year old Kara.
Children are my passion. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and taking on this role gives me the opportunity to make a difference at an amazing school. I believe that success is different for every student, but it always requires both the school and the community.
