Alex will take you on a journey through all of the PWCS benefits options and help you to choose the best benefits to meet your own individual needs. Alex covers health, dental and vision insurances, flexible spending account options and explains the Virginia Retirement System and our supplemental retirement plans with Lincoln Financial. You do not enroll through Alex. Upon completion, Alex will direct you to the PWCS Employee Self Service Page (ESS) to complete your enrollment!

Tax Time – 1095-C Forms

As you collect your paperwork to prepare your 2020 tax return, you may be thinking about your 1095-C form for health insurance information.  If you had health insurance coverage through PWCS for at least one month in 2020, you will be receiving a 1095-C from our office. These forms are not required to file your tax return, but are important to keep with your tax paperwork. The 1095-C forms were sent out to the mailing address on file with PWCS via US mail, postmarked by March 2. After March 2, you may request a copy of your 1095-C in writing via email to Benefits@pwcs.edu or via US mail to PWCS Office of Benefits, P.O. Box 389, Manassas, VA 20108. Please allow 30 days for delivery of the additional copy. If you have questions about your form, you may email Benefits@pwcs.edu or call 703-791-8568.

Vaccine Information

PWCS is working with the Prince William Health District, INOVA, and Novant UVA Health System to offer vaccines to employees as quickly as possible. As new appointments for vaccinations become available, they will be offered to employees based on their  position. PWCS continues to work with the Prince William Health District, INOVA, Novant UVA Health System, and Prince William County to expand offering the vaccine to all other employees as soon as possible. Further updates will be provided when available. 

Know that this is a very fluid process and that you will be contacted via your PWCS email address as soon as specific scheduling information is available. It is not PWCS practice to relay information to employees using personal email addresses. Please continue to check your PWCS email and monitor communications from our division.

Tuition Reimbursement

Taking a spring semester class?  Planning a Summer or Fall Class?

The PWCS Tuition Reimbursement Program may be able to help you.

Please visit the PWCS Tuition Reimbursement Page for information on the program.

Key points to remember to make sure you receive the correct reimbursement:

  • You must submit your request at the beginning of your class, as soon after registration as possible. Paperwork will not be accepted for courses that have already ended.
  • Your course must be taken at an accredited university for university credits to be eligible.
  • Courses ending July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021, will fall under the 2020-21 fiscal year. Courses taken July 1 2021 - June 30, 2022, will fall under the 2021-22 fiscal year.
  • You must submit ALL paperwork for approval - Form, Course Description and Proof of Payment. 
  • You must be a current active PWCS employee at the time of your class.
  • You must be a current active PWCS employee when you take a test.
  • You must submit your request BEFORE your course ends.
