I attended George Mason and VCU and received my Masters of Teaching at VCU. Go Rams!! I have taught in Prince William County for the last 8 years in Kindergarten and First Grade. I look forward to another year where our class will become a community filled with historians, scientists, authors and critical thinkers. With your continued support I know we will have a great year.

I obtained my Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington. I have enjoyed working in Prince William County for the past 26 years. During that time, I have had many responsibilities including teaching Kindergarten and 1st Grade. Nothing has been more rewarding than seeing students learn and grow while feeding their appetite for knowledge. This year will be no different; we will learn, grow and adapt together.

I cannot wait to begin an exciting new year like no other. This will be my 17th year teaching in Prince William County Public Schools. Fifteen of these years have been spent teaching first grade and one year teaching kindergarten, because I greatly enjoy helping our younger learners blossom and grow into more confident, independent thinkers and problem solvers. I am excited to get to know you and your family as we work together to help your child have a successful year in first grade.

I am excited to begin my 12th year of teaching. This will be my sixth year as a 1st grade teacher at MWES! Although this year will be unlike any other our team is confident students will learn and grow in a virtual environment. Together we will help students adapt to new technology. We look forward to your support in helping students practice skills to meet their full potential. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 kids. My oldest will be doing 1st grade distance learning just like your kids. My two younger kids spend time with their amazing grandma while I teach. In our free time we love to play outside, go on long bike rides and bake. Watching HGTV, reading mystery novels and eating chocolate are some of my favorite treats! I can’t wait to learn more about your students and their favorite things.

Michelle Terhaar

I am originally from California and have lived there most of my life. I graduated from San Diego State University with my Bachelor's Degree and Teaching Credential. This is my 11th year teaching. I have three children- a 3rd grader, 5th grader and an 8th grader. All three of my children are involved in sports, so I spend most weekends on the baseball field or soccer field, cheering on my children. I also love to exercise and do anything crafty! I am excited to be a part of the MWES Panther Cub Family.
