A little about me...
I was born in San Diego, California but moved to Florida when I was 9, where I lived until 2012.  I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Education and began teaching in Port St. Lucie, FL, where I taught grades 8 (Mathematics), 5th, and 1st.  When I moved to Virginia Beach I taught 5th, 3rd, and 2nd grade.  While teaching 2nd grade I attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk. VA to study Library Science.  I graduated with my Master's Degree in August 2018. My family moved to Woodbridge VA during the summer and I began my library journey at Mary Williams Elementary.
I have an amazing husband, two fun-loving boys (one in middle school and the other a 5th grader here at Mary Williams) and a newborn daughter (May 2019).  We also have 1 dog - Toby - and we love baseball & camping!

How do kids show PRIDE in the Panther Cubs Library?

We have a poster in the library that helps students remember how to show PRIDE when they come to visit.  You can find it in the "Files and Documents" on the left side of my page.  Feel free to ask your child about these expectations - I'm sure they can help you understand what PRIDE looks like in the Panther Cub Library.

Panther Cub Book Care Rules

Are you familiar with our book care rules?  Your panther cub is (or will be if they're new to our school)!  To review them, go to "Files and Documents" on the left side of my page to find a copy.  Being familiar with our book care rules helps parents reinforce good behaviors at home to prevent lost or damaged books.  Thank you for your help with book care so we can keep circulating our books to more students!

Did you know we have open checkout daily?

Open checkout is the perfect time to come into the Library to pick out a new good-fit book! Students are able to get their teacher's permission to attend the library for 15 minutes and return an old book to receive a new one.  We are happy to see many smiling faces each day as our students continue to visit us for open checkout!
